Your YMCA, reflecting its Judeo-Christian heritage, in an association of volunteers, members, and staff, open to all and serving all, providing programs and services which develop spirit, mind, and body. Financial assistance is based on need. The YMCA actively seeks to identify and involve those in need.
Youth sports are an integral part of Y programming and are an effective tool for character and leadership development and the adoption of healthy lifestyle habits. The Y is open to and serving all. Programs are made avaialble to everyone in our community, regardless of their ability to pay. This uniquely positions the Metro Atlanta Y to introduce the game of tennis to youth and adults that may otherwise never have exposure to this great sport and the healthy lifestyle and sense of community it so aptly promotes.
Using the 10 and under format (formerly called QuickStart), kids are able to learn through an exciting play format utilizing specialized equipment that includes smaller court dimensions, low compression balls, smaller nets, and proper racquets. When financial assistance is provided to those in need from across all program categories, funding specifically to fund acccess of tennis programs to underserved communities would siginificantly increase exposure to the sport.
