We believe that to bring about meaningful change in individuals and communities, we must be focused and accountable. At the Y, we measure the success of our cause by how well we engage communities in our three areas of focus.
Nurturing the potential of every child and teen.
Improving the nation's health and well-being.
Giving back and providing support to our neighbors.
The Georgia Alliance of YMCAs is comprised of 17 YMCA Associations and 71 branches across the state. At the Y, we work side-by-side every day with our neighbors to make sure everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive. The Y enables youth, families, and adults to be involved through $68 million of scholarships and subsidies.
Ys provide quality, affordable early learning programs to 6,719 preschool children, giving them solid foundations for positive, academic growth. During non-school hours, 23,511 youth and teens benefit from academic enrichment, recreation and character values woven into Y after-school programs.
The Ys in Georgia involve, support and empower 460,072 individuals and family members in the pursuit of health enhancement and the reduction of obesity and related chronic diseases. With a mission centered on balance, the Y brings families closer together, encourages good health and fosters connections through fitness, sports, fun and shared interest.
