YMCA of Metro Atlanta and City of Atlanta Parks and Recreation Partner with Metro Atlanta Organizations to Announce Water Safety Coalition
The YMCA of Metro Atlanta, City of Atlanta Parks and Recreation, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, The American Red Cross and WABE announced the development of the Atlanta Water Safety Coalition.
The coalition is focused on age-based strategies and creating opportunities for greater access to swim and water safety lessons for youth and teens. Currently, the highest rates of drowning occur with children ages 1-4 and boys ages 15-19, with children of color at higher risk.
