Caring for Our Community: September 14-20

Friday, September 18, 2020

Thank you to everyone who volunteered or donated for the Y’s Days of Service one week ago. In just one day we packed 2,000 grocery boxes containing more than 16,000 meals for members of our community experiencing food insecurity. We also raised more than $47,000 for Y hunger relief programs. Check out our video to find out more and donate today to help us put our fundraising over $50,000!

Across the metro area, the COVID-19 pandemic has taken a huge financial toll on so many families. We know this has been a difficult time for many, and we are keeping an eye out for programs that can help those of you who need extra support right now. The Nicholas House has created a program to help provide financial assistance for rent and utilities for families in DeKalb County. The goal of Nicholas Houses’ Prevention Services is to provide financial assistance, and other services to prevent families from being evicted, losing their homes, or becoming homeless.
