Thank you to The Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation for helping address the digital divide in our communities! While many school systems are providing devices for virtual learning, children in pre-school and pre-k do not have the same access. This grant from The Blank Foundation allows the Y to provide devices to families at our Arthur M. Blank at E.A. Ware, Dean Rusk, and Chattahoochee early learning centers. As our YMCA early learning centers plan to start the school year with a hybrid model of in-person and remote learning, children will be able to connect to their virtual classrooms and have access to other pre-loaded learning apps that have been selected by our early learning team.

Thank you to Truist!

In 2020, Truist has donated a total of $1,000,000 through Truist Cares to Ys across the country in support of COVID-19 relief programs. Their donation to the YMCA of Metro Atlanta allows us to continue offering child care programs to metro Atlanta’s families, ensuring kids feel a sense of belonging, build friendships and explore new interests. We appreciate our partnership with Truist and their commitment to serving the children in our community.

Caring for Community

The Parkinson’s Foundation announced the recipients of more than $1.5 million in community grants for Parkinson’s programs. Community grants support local health, wellness and educational programs that address unmet needs in the Parkinson’s disease (PD) community. The YMCA of Metro Atlanta was awarded $10,000 to expand its PD Boxing program to additional YMCA locations. Thank you to our partners at the Parkinson’s Foundation for this vital funding that helps us to provide engaging, life-changing programming for those living with Parkinson’s Disease in our community.

Days of Service is Just Two Weeks Away!

Since March, they Y has increased our focus on hunger relief programs and has served more than 295,000 meals to community members in need. In just two weeks we will host a service project dedicated entirely to food security. Days of Service 2020 offers volunteer shifts with safety protocols in place. Volunteers will assist in packing thousands of grocery boxes that will be distributed to individual and families who are struggling to put food on their tables across the metro area.

Days of Service is sponsored by some of our outstanding community partners, including Great American Insurance, UPS and The Home Depot

Join is to volunteer or make a donation today at ymcaservice.org.
