Atlanta Gladiators Teach Hockey and Build Confidence With YMCA Clinics

The YMCA is proud to partner with amazing Atlanta sports teams like the Atlanta Gladiators. During two holiday day camps at the Robert D. Fowler Family YMCA and the J.M Tull-Gwinnett Family YMCA, professional players and staff from the Gladiators offered hockey skills clinics for more than 60 youth of all ages. Over the course of a few hours, kids who had never heard of hockey were passing, scoring, and cheering on one another with excitement that filled the gymnasium.

At the YMCA of Metro Atlanta, we believe in the power of sport to change lives and we are grateful to work with many professional sport team partners to help expose Y youth to all the exciting, different ways that they can stay active, build confidence, and learn to work together in teams.

The Atlanta Gladiators Ice Hockey team has long been supporters of the J.M. Tull-Gwinnett Family YMCA. In 2019, the YMCA of Metro Atlanta launched an association-wide partnership with the Gladiators focused on strengthening the community and helping spread the sport of hockey across Atlanta.

As the YMCA and Atlanta Gladiators partnership continues to grow, we are thrilled to announce our first Y Night at a Gladiators game on Saturday, Feb. 1. This is a great opportunity to come out and enjoy ice hockey and see what got our Y day campers so excited. A portion of the ticket sales will support the Y’s WHY IT MATTERS Annual Giving Campaign, which allows us to provide life-changing experiences for the youth and adults in our community. Tickets are available for purchase here.
