CAROL COOKERLY RECIEVES YMCA OF METRO ATLANTA HIGHEST AWARD
(ATLANTA)-October 27, 2011
The YMCA of Metro Atlanta is pleased to announce Carol Cookerly as the 2011 Bransby Christian Leadership Award winner. Named after a former Atlanta Y CEO, the Bransby Christian Leadership Award is the YMCA of Metro Atlanta’s highest volunteer award. Cookerly will be honored at the YMCA of Metro Atlanta annual volunteer recognition dinner Monday, November 7, 2011, at the Cobb Galleria Centre.
Cookerly has provided the Y with 15 years of exceptional volunteer service. Over the years she has served as the chairwoman for the Partner With Youth annual campaign and the endowment and brand management committees. Cookerly has provided the Y with ongoing crisis and public relations counsel including six years of support and engagement with obtaining a resident camp property on Lake Lanier. For her Partner With Youth efforts, she was selected as the YMCA of Metro Atlanta 2004 volunteer of the year.
“I think there is no other organization that is comprised of so many talented volunteers at the branch and metro level,” Cookerly says. “It’s not the title by the name, but it’s the integrity and commitment of the individual.”
Cookerly is founder and president of Cookerly Public Relations. She serves on the board of Murphy-Harpst, a safe haven for Georgia’s most abused children. Cookerly and her husband, Robert Beal, reside in Milton.
