ATLANTA (September 27, 2010) The Summit Family and Fayette Outdoor YMCAs are recognizing Dale Phenicie as their 2010 volunteer of the year. Phenicie will be honored at the YMCA of Metro Atlanta annual volunteer recognition dinner Monday, November 8, 2010, at the Cobb Galleria Centre. Phenicie has been involved with the Y since he was a child. While growing up in Michigan, he attended Y camp and was involved with youth and scouting programs. Currently, Phenicie is serving his fifth year as a Y volunteer. He is a member of the Fayette Y board, headed the Fayette Y in-kind donations committee and works with the Partner With Youth annual campaign. Partner With Youth provides an opportunity for children, adults and families to participate in Y programs if they cannot afford the full cost. He also leads a new committee which will explore ways the Fayette Outdoor Y can be used to its full potential. In addition to his Y volunteer work, Phenicie is the principal of Environmental Affairs Consulting. He also is involved with the Peachtree City Rotary Club, First Presbyterian Church of Peachtree City and the Peachtree City Jazz Edition. Phenicie and his wife reside in Peachtree City. They have three children and five grandchildren. The Y is a powerful association of men, women and children joined together by a shared commitment to nurturing the potential of kids, promoting healthy living and fostering a sense of social responsibility. Every day, we work side-by-side with our neighbors to make sure everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to learn grow and connect. |
