ATLANTA (September 27, 2010) The Carl E. Sanders Family YMCA at Buckhead is recognizing Elizabeth Jump as its 2010 volunteer of the year. Jump will be honored at the YMCA of Metro Atlanta annual volunteer recognition dinner Monday, November 8, 2010, at the Cobb Galleria Centre. Jump first became involved with the Y during childhood swimming lessons. Currently, she is serving her seventh year as a Y volunteer. She serves as a board member, community outreach committee member, volunteer in the afternoon enrichment program, and a fund raiser for the Partner With Youth annual campaign. Partner With Youth provides an opportunity for children, adults and families to participate in Y programs if they cannot afford the full cost. In addition to her Y volunteer work, Jump has served on the Westminster Schools Alumni board. She is a committee member at The Temple and is a volunteer for Odyssey Atlanta, a mentoring program for high school kids. Jump and her husband reside in Buckhead. They have two children. The Y is a powerful association of men, women and children joined together by a shared commitment to nurturing the potential of kids, promoting healthy living and fostering a sense of social responsibility. Every day, we work side-by-side with our neighbors to make sure everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to learn grow and connect. |
