ATLANTA (September 27, 2010) The East Lake Family YMCA is recognizing Lamar Jones as its 2010 volunteer of the year. Jones will be honored at the YMCA of Metro Atlanta annual volunteer recognition dinner Monday, November 8, 2010, at the Cobb Galleria Centre. Jones was originally introduced to the Y by a friend and became a volunteer in 2008. Currently, he serves as an East Lake Y board member and is involved with the Ask 10 Campaign, is a sponsor of the annual East Lake Y golf tournament and is involved with the Partner With Youth annual campaign. Partner With Youth provides an opportunity for children, adults and families to participate in Y programs if they cannot afford the full cost. In addition to his Y volunteer work, Jones is president of Key Maintenance Supply, Inc., and is involved with Elizabeth Baptist Church missions. Jones and his wife reside in Lithia Springs. The Y is a powerful association of men, women and children joined together by a shared commitment to nurturing the potential of kids, promoting healthy living and fostering a sense of social responsibility. Every day, we work side-by-side with our neighbors to make sure everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to learn grow and connect. |
