YMCA of the USA

As the nation's largest provider of child care services, the YMCA is dedicated to providing high-quality affordable child care.  YMCAs across the nation provide family-centered, values-based programs to support the physical, intellectual, emotional and social development of children.

YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta

The YMCA is the largest non-profit provider of child care services in Metropolitan Atlanta serving 7,000 + children per day.  We are the largest single employer of child care staff providing employment opportunities in several counties.

The YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta is committed to campaigning for the needs of families and children in the communities we serve.  We work diligently with schools, government agencies and community partners to implement programs that meet the needs of infants, toddlers, pre-school and school-age children. Our vision is to enhance the lives of children and families as we build strong communities.

YMCA Mission Statement for Children

The mission of the Metro Atlanta YMCA Child Care program is to provide quality services for all children to develop intellectually, socially, emotionally, and physically in a safe environment.  Family and community involvement are strongly encouraged to support program goals.  Reasonable fees are provided to accommodate the entire community.

Goals of the YMCA Child Care Program

YMCAs are committed to developing the whole child.  Finding the spirit, mind and body balance is critical.  Developing social competence in the early years is key to success in life.  Play yields creative and upbeat results.  Some of our goals are as follows:

  • To help children develop to their fullest potential
  • To support and strengthen the family unit
  • To deliver child care in a caring, safe and positive environment
