What is THE COACH APPROACH®?
THE COACH APPROACH® is an exercise support process that is free
with your facility membership and only available at the YMCA.
Do you offer discounts?
The Metro Atlanta YMCA does not offer discounts for several reasons:
1) We believe all people should be treated equally and our pricing should reflect that belief system.
2) Our prices are set at the lowest possible rate in which we feel we can offer quality YMCA programs and services.
3) Financial assistance is available for those individuals and or families who temporarily or permanently cannot afford to pay all or part of YMCA membership fees.
Why is there a joining fee and what is it used for?
The joining fee is a mission investment fee that is used by the Metro Atlanta YMCA for annual facility upgrades and improvements (i.e. fresh paint, roof repairs, new fitness equipment and upgrades). The joining fee is a one-time expense for the life of your active membership.
Why do I have to leave my membership card at the front desk?
For your safety. At all times it is important for us to know who is in the building so we can notify members in case of an emergency, whether it's a personal call or building evacuation.
What is the Christian affiliation of the YMCA?
Although our name is the Young Men's Christian Association, we are not just for young people, we are not just for men, and we are not just for practicing Christians. We are an association of people who believe in the promotion of Christian principles such as caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
What is your guest policy?
Facility members are allowed to bring two guests per day. Each guest is entitled to one free visit per branch per year. Facility members may request additional passes for their out-of-town guests. The facility member must be present on the initial visit. A picture I.D. is required for all guests.
If I have a membership at a YMCA in Atlanta, can I use it at YMCAs across the country?
Yes. You are Always Welcome At YMCAs (AWAY program). Your membership card entitles you to visit more than 2,000 other YMCAs across the country and worldwide when you travel. YMCA members outside a 60-mile radius of Atlanta may visit Metro Atlanta facilities up to 30 days per year at no charge.
