The YMCA wants to provide teens with personal, social and recreational programs in a safe and positive environment that will enhance personal and social skills, teach leadership and responsibility, and promote individual self-esteem. With the YMCA's core values of caring, honesty,  respect and responsibility, your teen will grow new friendships, build confidence and discover personal talents.

THE GOAL OF Y-REC is to develop the spirit, mind and body of youth and teens through supervised recreational age-appropriate activities.

ACTIVITIES:  Billiards, ping pong, outdoor games, arts & crafts, and more.

TOURNAMENTS:  Youth & Teens will be able to sign up in the Y-REC for tournaments.  Tournaments will be held for different age groups.  Don't forget to sign up to play!

YMCA STAFF WILL SUPERVISE all activities adding important elements of safety, fun and encouragement.

Teen Leaders Club

Ages 12-18

Teens are welcome to come and join this group to learn and develop their leadership skills in a safe and fun environment. The group meets every Monday at 7:00 pm in the Y-REC.

Teens have input regarding all activities in this ongoing leadership development program. The club members choose group projects, plan trips and are totally involved in making the club what they want it to be.

The teen leaders have an opportunity to join other teen leaders from the SE region at the Blue Ridge Regional Leaders School for a week in Blue Ridge, NC during the summer.

The Teen Leaders Club is under the direction of Danny Thomas.

Teen Hang Out
Ages 12-17

The YMCA Teen Center is a place for teens ages 12 - 17 to be themselves, hang out with their friends, and meet new people in a safe, supervised atmosphere. Check out our flyer Teen Hang Out for dates and activities. 

Calling all Kids! Looking for something fun to do?  Come check out what's happening during our Nights Out at the YMCA.  Enjoy music, movies, swimming, games, crafts, food, and special activities or just hang out and socialize.  Call your friends and hook up at the Y.  For more information please go Parents Night Out.
