Early Learning Academy  

The Andrew & Walter Young (Southwest) Family YMCA Early Learning Academy is an innovative preschool program for children ages three months to four years.  Our primary goal is to provide your child with happy and secure surroundings in which to grow physically, socially, emotionally, and intellectually.  Recognizing the individuality of each child, a daily schedule is planned according to their age, interests, and developmental level with the ultimate objective being to enhance individual autonomy and initiative.

The creative curriculum includes but is not limited to art, music, tutorial programs, swimming, gymnastics, language development, story time, foreign language, Spanish and sign language. 

Together the staff of the Early Learning Academy brings over twenty (20) years of child care experience to
the families of the Young (Southwest) Family YMCA.   At present over ninety percent (90%) of our staff possess a Child Development Associate certification and thirty-five percent (35%) hold or are in the process of attaining an Associate degree or higher in early childhood education.

Hours of Operation:

Monday - Friday

Traditional Preschool - 6:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.

Pre-K - 8:30 a.m.  - 3:00 p.m.

Head Start  8:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. 

Weekly Fees:

We do accept Children and Parent Services (CAPS) and other child care subsidies.

AFTERSCHOOL CHILD CARE & HOLIDAY CAMP

The Prime Time After School  program provides high quality childcare at affordable rates.  Children in the program must be able to function in a group setting to enjoy fun, stimulating activities in a safe environment.

Prime Time provides children with the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities which benefits them emotionally and physically while building lasting relationships.  The Young Family (Southwest) YMCA meets the needs of families by offering a quality program that you can count on.

Hours of Operation:

After School  Monday – Friday  2:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.

Affordable Fees:

The is an annual program fee for non members of $25.00 for individual and $35.00 for family per year.  Our standard weekly fee is $65.00 per week, however parents can apply for a sliding fee subsidy contingent on availability of slots and based on the fee scale below.  To qualify for the sliding fee scale, you must present income verification in the form of a check stub or a W-2 form at the time of registration. We accept CAPS and other child care subsidies. We accept only checks or money orders for payment of weekly fees.

Prime Time Sites:

For your convenience you can register your child at any of the Prime Time sites listed below  or you can register at the Young Family (Southwest) YMCA located at 2220 Campbellton Road, SW Atlanta, Georgia  30311.

Prime Time Pick-up sites:

Children are picked-up and transported to the Young Family (Southwest) YMCA.

HOLIDAY/FUN CAMP

FUN CAMP is in session on teacher planning days. 

Holiday Camp is in session during scheduled school holidays (Christmas break, Spring break, etc.).
The YMCA is closed on Christmas, New Years and Thanksgiving Day.

FEES:  $25.00 per day           $85.00 per week (3 or more days)
