Annual Golf Tournament

Friday, October 16, 2009

The YMCA Open is a one day, 18-hole Scramble Tournament. The purpose of this tournament is to raise money that directly provides scholarships for children who might not otherwise be able to participate in the many wonderful programs that the YMCA has to offer - programs such as aquatics, youth sports programs, and YMCA Summer Day Camp.

In 2008, The Summit Family YMCA served more than 300 youth in our summer day camp and was able to provide over $90,000 in financial assistance. So join us and just by teeing off, you will help make a positive impact in he lives of our Coweta County children!

For information regarding sponsorship opportunities click here. To request an invitation to play, please complete this form  and return with payment to the Summit Family YMCA.

News and Announcements

YOUTH LEADERSHIP COWETA

Youth Leadership Coweta is about to kickoff for the 2009-2010 school year!

Youth Leadership Coweta, a county wide leadership program for high school juniors, is designed to develop leadership potential and to acquaint participants with community needs, problems and resources through interaction with local leaders and decision makers. This program was designed to parallel the adult Leadership Coweta program with the intention of developing and cultivating future leaders. Participants gain insight into the complex decision making process that is essential in addressing community issues and also learn about cultural and economic opportunities, and resources available in this area.

For more information on Youth Leadership Coweta and the 2009-2010 Program Application, please click here.

Also, as something new this year, we are accepting applications to fill up to 8 volunteer positions entitled “Leader in Training” (LIT) for alumni seniors who graduated from last year’s program. The LIT’s role will be to work along side YMCA staff and assist in the planning and delivery of the actual Youth Leadership Coweta program. LIT’s will also serve a valuable role as liaisons between Youth  Leadership Coweta participants and Y staff.

If you are a high school senior that graduated from the Youth Leadership Coweta program last year and have an interest in being an LIT this year, please fill out and return the following application. The deadline for applications is Sept. 30, 2009.
