Adult Sports
Regardless of the sport or skill level, the focus is on the full and equal participation of all.
Aquatics
YMCA aquatics programs promote good health through regular exercise. In addition to providing specific swimming and water safety skills, they promote self-confidence and teamwork.
Child Care
In addition to providing a drop-in babysitting service for (ages 3 months to 12 years) facility members while parents are in the facility, we also offer child care programs that deliver a learning experience that fosters growth and development in children, parents and families in a safe, secure environment.
Community Development
Our Community Development program currently partners with several different associations from the Buckhead community. Our goal is to reach out and provide underserved preschool children, youth and seniors with unique, fun, and enriching programming geared towards and exposing them to wellness, sports, and social activities.
Day Camp
Camping programs are educational ones that promote spiritual awareness, mental development, physical well-being, social growth, and a respect for the environment. Through a variety of activities and the use of natural surroundings, YMCA summer day camps and outdoor education programs deliver quality camping experiences in a fun, wholesome environment.
Gymnastics
Gymnastics classes are a great way to introduce your children to physical fitness and help children build self-esteem. We offer gymnastics classes for children ages 18 months to 12 years old. Children learn how to use the low and high balance beams, bars, floor, vault, and tumble track. We have Gymnastics classes to meet all levels of gymnasts ranging from beginners to advanced.
Health & Wellness
THE COACH APPROACH® – Exercise Support Process
THE COACH APPROACH® is designed to teach new and returning exercisers how to start and stick with an exercise program. At no additional cost to members, they are assigned a Wellness Coach for a series of one-on-one meetings. The member completes a brief, but accurate assessment of what works for their unique spirit, mind and body. Then, a Wellness Coach helps the member design an active lifestyle plan that fits with their current level of fitness, motivation and work/life balance. The coach also helps the member develop a personal goal profile and meets with the member monthly to support their progress. Members can schedule an orientation at the Membership Center.
Group Exercise Classes
We offer a wide variety of aerobic classes and water fitness classes for all levels of exercisers. The approximately sixty classes per week are taught by certified instructors and include a wide variety of activities including yoga, pilates, kickboxing, cardio funk, step, sculpting, and group cycling classes.
Teen Programs
Teen programs model to young adults and help them develop skills such as cooperation, leadership, respect for the body, citizenship, and strong character. Teen nights provide a safe, fun space, along with challenging activities and access to our recreation and exercise areas. Teens are also encouraged to join the Leaders Club which through volunteer service, fundraising, training and rallies, trips, outings, and special events, builds confidence and instills the YMCA core values.
Youth Sports
Regardless of the sport or skill level, the focus is on the full and equal participation of all. The goal is for every child to play in every game. Win or lose, kids learn about self improvement, fitness, safety, sportsmanship, cooperation, self-esteem, and respect for others in a fun, learning environment. Parents are encouraged to become volunteer coaches, team parents or assist in practices and games to promote the parent-child relationship.
Family Programs
Family programs help people grow as responsible family members. They provide children and their parents with activities that foster understanding, companionship and support. Join us for pool parties, bingo, holiday activities, and other get-togethers.
Tennis
We offer an active tennis program for youth and adults from beginner clinics to advanced lessons and ALTA/USTA leagues. The YMCA has nine outdoor tennis courts, five clay and four hard. The courts are lighted for early morning and evening play. Tennis lessons are available year-round, weather permitting. The YMCA offers group, private and semi-private lessons as well as Round Robins and Stroke Clinics. Junior Clinics (ages 3 through 18) are available fall, winter and spring months.
