YMCA membership is about changing lives...
As it has for more than 150 years, the YMCA, as a nonprofit charitable organization, helps people of all ages, faiths, and cultures grow in spirit, mind, and body. Reasons to join are as varied as the people who choose to join.

Members tell us they joined to:
- teach their children how to swim;
- recover from an unexpected illness or accident;
- build caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility in their children;
- learn how to lose weight, sleep better and get in shape; or
- volunteer as their child's coach.

...and creating a sense of belonging
Membership in the YMCA offers the opportunity to build your own health and wellness, and it also offers a uniquely rewarding sense of community. A sense of belonging develops over time through shared YMCA connection, involvement and outreach to the underserved.
YMCA membership challenges individuals to personally contribute to, and to collectively engage others in, the higher charitable purpose of building strong kids, strong families and strong communities. Today, America's 2,575 YMCAs are collectively the largest providers of community-based health and wellness programs in the country.

We are open to and serve all
YMCA membership calls us to the belief that every individual is divinely created and as such is unique and worthy of respect. Living a full life means developing positive relationships with all others, but especially the neglected or underserved. Inclusion is a value promoted at the YMCA.
We seek to include those in financial need
As a charity, the YMCA promotes the importance of fundraising. All members are asked to contribute to our Partner With Youth annual campaign which funds financial assistance for those individuals and/or families who temporarily or permanently cannot afford to pay all or part of YMCA membership dues.
