SALT Team Mission Alaska is a life leadership course focused on Service, Adventure, Leadership, and Technical skills located in America’s last frontier, Alaska! You will experience everything from flight seeing to backcountry living in Denali National Park and exploring the southern Alaskan waters by kayak. You will also grow by giving of yourself to those in need in the small town of Talkeetna, at YMCA camp Peggy Lake and much more! Take the challenge of leadership in the SALT Team Mission trip to Alaska!
• Service: Talkeetna Alaska, YMCA Camp Peggy Lake and National Park Service in Denali NP. When you learn to be a servant leader by giving of your time, talent and energy to increase the quality of life of another; you will learn great things about yourself.
• Adventure: Seize the day! Work hard and play hard! Join us as we sea-kayak the Alaskan water, fish for King Salmon and Rainbow Trout, raft the Susitna River, fly around the largest mountain in North America, Mt. McKinley, and spend the night in the backcountry of Denali National Park!
• Leadership: Servant Leadership, Presentation Skills, Team-Building, Peer Leadership
Leadership is caught, not taught! This is an attitude adjustment. The ALA Alaska experience will equip you to make the right decisions back home and for the rest of your life!
• Technical: Backcountry Living, Light Construction, Games/Activities, First Aid
There are skills that leaders need to know. To lead others you need to be a confident and capable individual. These technical skills build self-confidence in leaders and teach them life long skills in an exciting setting!
