Aquatics
: The YMCA Aquatics program serves all members of the Y family by providing instruction, recreation and exercise for all ages.  In addition to programs that teach swimming and water safety, the YMCA Aquatics Program build self-confidence and self-esteem.  Our program includes:
 
Learn to Swim Lessons, ages 6 months to adult
Private Swim Lessons, ages 2 and up
Swim Team, ages 5 to 18
Masters Swim Team, ages 19 and up
Lap Swimming
Open, Recreational Swimming
Adapted Swimming
Lifeguard classes

Adapted Aquatics: The adapted aquatics program at the Fowler YMCA offers many options for
participation for those with special needs, including both private and group
lessons.  Our program encompasses people of all ages with a variety of special needs.

-Group Lessons
-Beginning and Pre-Team level instruction
-Stroke development, endurance building and preparation for competition

After School Enrichment Programs: Our vision is to give every student in our community the opportunity to participate in programs that enhance their physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. The Fowler YMCA enrolled between 130- 150 students in our after school program during the 2005-2006 school year. The students, from Gwinnett County Public Schools, receive homework help each day, healthy snacks, sports activities, outdoor play when weather permits, and many valuable lessons in the YMCA's core values - Responsibility, Respect, Caring & Honesty.

Group Exercise Classes:   The Fowler YMCA offers over 70 classes per week to meet your scheduling and fitness needs.  Intimidation is something we strive to eliminate in our class setting, so if you are new to the workout circuit, let the class instructor know so we can make you feel as comfortable as possible.  Just to name a few of the many classes available are:

Gymnastics: YMCA gymnastics provides a quality program in a safe, structured and nurturing environment. The program is designed to enhance body awareness, balance and coordination, as well as to build strength and self confidence. Participants progress through the program by learning specific skills appropriate for their level.

Teen Programs:These programs give kids good role models to help them develop cooperation, leadership, respect for the body, good citizenship, and strong character values. Leaders clubs are designed to involve young adults in the YMCA. As part of a volunteer service club, participants are active in training programs, fundraising events, trips and outings, rallies, and special events.  The Robert D. Fowler YMCA offers both Middle School and High School teen programs.

Youth Sports: - YMCA sports are designed to provide age-appropriate experiences throughout life. Youth sports provides an opportunity for kids of all ages to develop an appreciation of sports, learn fundamental skills and develop leadership skills...all while having fun! The emphasis is on everyone playing, not on winning. Limited score keeping and our ongoing commitment to good sportsmanship round out the program. Coaching is by parents and other adult volunteers who care about the healthy development of all kids. Getting involved as a coach or team parent is a great way to build a better relationship with your own child. 

Programs include:
· Outdoor soccer (Fall & Spring)
· Basketball (Winter & Summer)
· Karate
· Summer sports camps
· Gymnastics
