Established in 1987, the Fayette Family YMCA began offering summer day camp in 1988.  In 1993 the facility moved to its permanent site on Huiet Road in Fayetteville. 

The summer camp program was expanded and swim lessons were available on the campus.  The YMCA is also home to a one-acre castle play park for approximately 26,000 visiting families and children every year.  Planning and organization was initiated by a small group of mothers who raised the funds, and the final construction was completed in three days by 3,000 volunteers in the community. 

Our lake front is a favorite activity area for our summer campers.  Today, Camp Deer Point accommodates 250 children every day during the summer, teaches adults and children to swim, builds relationships in the Y-Adventure Guides, and continues to offer new programs which positively impact the lives of young people.
