Family Aquatics Center
The East Lake YMCA's 6,855-square-foot Family Aquatics Center has three elements; the "Beach" that goes from zero-entry to two feet; the "River" at 25 yards long for lap swimming; the "Lagoon" that goes up to 5.6 feet deep. The Family Aquatics Center also features the Poseidon System, a "Lifeguard's Third Eye". Poseidon is a sophisticated integration of underwater and overhead cameras linked to computers that scan the pool to detect a swimmer in distress which are then linked to alarms on pagers worn by the lifeguards. Your safety is our first priority. The YMCA has been teaching swimming lessons to children and adults for over 100 years. Our goals are to guide each individual through the National Swim Lesson program so that each participant's skills become proficient, and more importantly, that each student has a complete understanding of water safety. We hope that you will join us in one of our many classes offered daily
