General Info: (Ages 3-16* years-boys & girls) Age as of August 1, 2010 will determine child's age group.

There are no tryouts for recreational soccer programs. Designed to build elementary and intermediate skills, fundamentals and love of the sport. All practices and games are held in the Decatur/Atlanta area at various schools and parks. The YMCA registers and schedules U14 and above age groups through the Georgia Youth Soccer Association.

* All players must have current YMCA facility or program membership to register. Program memberships are $25 for individuals and $35 for a family, per year.

REGISTRATION ONGOING UNTIL TEAMS ARE FULL.

Season Dates: Kiddie Kickers have team practice for 30 minutes and play a 30 minute game on Saturday mornings starting October 2nd (6 week program). Jr. Micro, Micro and U8 age groups practice once per week and play games on Saturday mornings. U10 and above age groups practice twice weekly and play games on Saturdays, occasional Friday nights and Sunday afternoons. Practice starts the week of August 22nd for U10 and above age groups (8-16 yr olds) and games start on September 11th (9 week program). Practice starts the week of August 29th for U7 & U8 age groups (6-7 yr olds)and games start on September 18th (8 week program). Practice starts the week of September 5th for Jr. Micro and Micro age groups (4 & 5 yr olds) and games start on September 18th (8 week program).  New parent orientation and coach meetings will be held prior to season start dates. Season will conclude on the weekend of November 6th(varies which age), with the weekend of November 13th reserved for a rainout date due to inclement weather. Above dates are subject to change.

All NEW DDY soccer players, except Kiddie Kickers, are required to purchase a DDY Recreational Soccer uniform. The cost is $30.00 and should be purchased at time of registration and can be picked up at Soccer Wholesale. Kiddie Kickers program fees include t-shirt and socks.

Mighty Mites, 4-5 year olds, and U8's, 6-7 year olds, will practice once per week on Sunday afternoons for the first two weeks for an hour, then will play games the last 6 weeks with practices held 30 minutes prior to the games. Practice starts on Sunday, September 12th and games start on Sunday, September 26th (7 week program). Season will end on November 7th, with November 14th reserved for a rainout date. New parent orientation and coach meetings will be held prior to season start dates.  Above dates are subject to change.

This is the ideal program for youth soccer fans who want to stay in shape and have fun during the winter months. Indoor soccer is a fast-paced game with lots of excitement!

Times & Locations:
U6 - U14 season will include 6 games with no practices.
U6 & U8 - Friend's School Gym on Saturday mornings.
U10 & U12 - Samuel L. Jones Boys & Girls Club Gym on Saturday mornings and early afternoons.
U14, U16, & U18 - Decatur-DeKalb YMCA Gym on Sunday afternoons.

World Cup Summer Soccer:
A funfilled soccer program to help keep players active during the summer months and to continue to celebrate the World Cup.  Summer soccer meets on Saturday mornings and begins with a practice session then concludes with round robin game play.  Players are not assigned to a specific team, but are randomly assigned to a different team each week.  This gives the player an opportunity to play with all players and to learn under a different coach each week.  Each team will represent a national soccer team in the World Cup and will have the national jersey.  At the end of the program all players will receive a jersey.

Ages: 3-12 years old (Age as of June 1, 2011)

Registration: April 1 - May 29, 2011 either on-line or in-person at the YMCA.

Season Dates:  Saturday, June 4th through Saturday, July 16th, 2011.

Fees: Facility Member $65.00     Program Member $80.00

Youth Premier Development Soccer Clinic:
Come learn soccer specific skills from the best!  Clinics feature Academy Coach Toby Ozias with over 20 years playing and coaching experience.  Soccer clinic will focus on dribbling, trapping, passing, receiving, team tactics, formations, positioning, and position specific training. Clinics will be held from 9:00 am-1:00 pm at Pattillo Soccer field.  Cost includes a free t-shirt.

Ages: 7-16 years old (Age of clinic date)

For boys and girls ages 8-16, the purpose of the Academy & Select competitive soccer program is to develop advanced skills in players interested in a higher level of commitment than the YMCA recreational soccer program requires. Players must attend evaluations and be selected to participate. Paid coaches and trainers operate under Georgia Youth Soccer Association rules and guidelines.

Decatur-DeKalb YMCA teams are coached by Jeff Newbury, Doug Kennedy, Toby Ozias, Richard Richmond, Robert Richmond, Paul Garcia, Ashley Schmidt, Steven Clark, Tim Wagner, and Tish Weidman.

Registration times at Decatur-DeKalb YMCA are Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m., and Saturdays & Sundays from 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. F axed & mailed registrations will not be accepted.

Tiny T-Ball (3-4 years): Tiny T-Ball games are held on Saturday mornings. Games will last for 40 minutes or two innings (which ever comes first) followed by snacks. T-Ball (5-6 years): Teams practice once per week. Games will be played on Saturdays mornings.

Coach Pitch Baseball - 7 & 8 Years Old Age Division
This program is designed for kids ages 7 & 8 years old to teach them the concept of baseball.  Each team's coach will pitch to them during games. Each team will practice once a week and play games during the week.

Little League Baseball- 9-12 Years Old Age Divisions
This program is designed for kids ages 9-12 years old. Each team will play Little League Baseball. At the first game (9-10 yrs. old age division only) the team's coach will pitch, and then team player's will pitch the following games. Each team will practice once a week and play games during the week.

The Youth Basketball Program is a great opportunity for you and your child to learn and love the sport of basketball. Originally started by the YMCA, basketball is a fun team sport that develops character and teamwork.

Coaches
All recreational teams are coached by volunteers. Your help in volunteering your time or assisting in finding other coaches is greatly appreciated! The Decatur-DeKalb YMCA relies on community and parent volunteers to coach its seasonal recreational sports teams. All volunteers must fill out an application for volunteer service and undergo a background check.

Basketball Referees
Basketball referee assignments are made through the Sports Director.  Each referee is just as different as the court the game is played on. Any referee questions should be directed to Michael N. Duncan at (404) 371-3305 or e-mail  michaeld@ymcaatlanta.org.

Soccer Referees
