Nestled on 220 acres on Lake Allatoona, the Cherokee Outdoor Family
YMCA is a very unique facility. T he Cherokee Outdoor Family YMCA 
was formerly known as CS-ta. CS-ta was a retreat facility for employees
and families of C&S Bank. In 1992 the merger with C&S Bank and Nation's
Bank resulted in a donation of the facility and the lease of the property
controlled by the Corps of Engineers to the Metropolitan Atlanta YMCA.
The Metropolitan Atlanta YMCA invested $600,000 in repairs and
improvements in order to open the facility. The Cherokee Outdoor Family
YMCA is one of 27 branches of the Metropolitan Atlanta YMCA.

The activities at the Cherokee Outdoor Family YMCA are tools used to
accomplish the mission and achieve the vision of building strong kids,
strong families, strong communities and reinforce the four core values
of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility into all of the programs
offered.

The Cherokee Outdoor Family YMCA includes an outdoor pool, large
playground, basketball courts, walking trails, youth retreat and summer
day camp accommodations, stables for summer horse back camp, sports
field, picnic pavilions, boat dock and pier, and dining hall with terrace.
