A Higher Goal: "I began as a volunteer soccer coach for one of my son's teams. Then I coached several teams. I moved onto the board in 2004 and was recently elected as board chair."

Family Ties: "The Y is about life's lessons and bringing each family together to share and experience these lessons. It is the sense that we can come together and help children grow, become greater contributors to the world, and ultimately become better adults."

Tremendous Impact: "Every Saturday, my family is on the soccer field. While I'm out there coaching and helping other kids, I'm watching my own children's confidence grow. They spend time with other children who are being brought up with a similar value set as our family, and that is fantastic. Each and every time I walk off the soccer field as a coach, I feel like I have made a difference with a child."

On a Personal Note: "The Y has made me become a better parent, a better father. It's given me the opportunity to see the world a little differently, through the eyes of children. I see the challenges kids face today that we didn't really face when I was growing up."
