What does YMCA stand for?
Young Men's Christian Association. However, men and women, young and old, and people of all religions are welcome at the YMCA. We are open to and serve all.

How long has the YMCA been in Atlanta?
We will celebrate 150 years of building strong kids, strong families and strong communities in 2008!
 
What are some of the community outreach programs at the YMCA?
Community development and outreach efforts include pre-school and after school child care, teen leadership development programs, learn-to-swim, and more The Partner With Youth annual campaign raises money to provide financial assistance so everyone has an opportunity to enjoy YMCA programs and services.  
 
How can I volunteer at the YMCA?
The YMCA offers many different volunteer opportunities to fit into your schedule.  To find out more about volunteering, see our volunteer opportunities page or contact the YMCA nearest you.
 
Are the YMCA and YWCA related?
They are separate, national organizations with similar missions. In some cities, these organizations have joined together.

Is my contribution to the YMCA tax deductible?
The YMCA is a charitable, nonprofit organization providing services throughout the community.  Your financial contribution, which is tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law, allows us to continue providing these needed services to families and children throughout the Atlanta area.

Is my membership to the YMCA tax deductible?
Since you receive a service for the fee paid to be a member or a participant of a YMCA
program, your membership fee is not deductible for federal income tax purposes.
